Netball Superleague to ditch draws for 2015 season

It has been confirmed that Netball Superleague fixtures will be played to a finish next season, meaning that tied games will no longer be an option.This change in ruling fits in with the current international standard of playing matches to a conclusion and with several high profile stalemates last year, the added excitement and pressure will make for an even more thrilling season.If the scores are level at the end of sixty minutes we will head into a period of extra-time, consisting of two, seven minute halves. Brooke Vincent re-joins Coronation Street Netball Team

Brooke Vincent is the latest Coronation Street cast member to sign up for the second Soap Showdown charity match against Emmerdale.Brooke, who plays Sophie Webster on the cobbles, will line up with cast mates Katy Cavanagh, Tisha Merry, Jane Danson and Hayley Tamaddon for the match, in aid of Text Santa.Katy will again captain the team, which will be made up of a combination of cast, crew and Manchester Thunder Superleague players.Team Emmerdale's Charley Webb will skipper her team, with Michelle Hardwick and Eden Taylor-Draper also lacing up their trainers and pulling on their dress for a second time.Fellow cast-mates Sammy Winward and Amy Walsh will leave the Woolpack behind to join the Yorkshire team to make their netball debut. along with players from Superleague team Yorkshire Jets. Despite a sluggish start, Thunder saw off their Yorkshire rivals in a pre-season friendly in Huddersfield.It was the first competitive outing against a Superleague team for Thunder since they were crowned champions back in April and their lack-of match sharpness was clear in the opening exchanges.Jets pounced on Thunder's hesitancy and could not have started with a more opposing intensity.With the home crowd cheering them on, Jets stretched to a 13-7 lead by the end of the first quarter. Coach Tracey Neville had some stern words for her players and rang the changes, with Gabby Marshall coming on at wing defence to replace Ellie Cardwell and Beth Cobden switched to wing attack .With Thunder still searching for passes that weren't there, Jets extended their lead further. Thunder raises £1,000 for England Amputee Football Association

Manchester Thunder raises £1,000 for England Amputee Football Association in charity clash with Australia.A match between Manchester Thunder and the Australia Diamonds national side has raised £1,000.The funds were donated to the England Amputee Football Association (EAFA) following the match between the Commonwealth and World Champions and a Thunder Select team.EAFA supports the development of players and helps to create more footballing opportunities for amputees and those with limb affecting disabilities.The charity caters for various levels from development sessions and juniors right through to the EAFA league and cup competitions. Manchester Thunder to host third Mike Greenwood Trophy 

Manchester Thunder will welcome Superleague and national teams to the Thunderdome for the annual Mike Greenwood Trophy tournament.Thunder will compete against Celtic Dragons and Scotland with Superleague's Yorkshire Jets, Team Northumbria and Loughborough Lightning also taking part in the event on Saturday, November 29.The tournament - in its third year - was named in honour of Black and Yellows former coach Mike Greenwood, who passed away in 2011. Celtic Dragons and Scotland will be looking to get some court time following mixed performances at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Netball Superleague 2015 – Fixtures Confirmed

The defending champions will face Surrey Storm - the team they edged out by a last-gasp goal in the 2014 grand final in April on January 26. In what promises to be a mouth-watering encounter between netball's biggest rivals, and the Sky Sports cameras will be there to capture every pass live. It is the first time the live TV fixtures have been confirmed so far in advance.  With Surrey looking to avenge the agonising final defeat, they will also be up against Thunder's Aussie overseas signing Chelsea Pitman, who is expected to make her Black and Yellow Superleague debut.
