England Thrash Wales 70 vs 25 in Liverpool

England thrashed Wales 70-25 to kick-off their home winter international series in style.The red and whites, who were playing Wales after original opponents Malawi pulled out due to Visa issues, dominated from the first centre pass.The Queens will play England in the remaining two Tests on Wednesday at London's Copperbox and Worcester Arena on Saturday. The Liverpool Echo Arena was treated to a defensive masterclass from England, led by Geva Mentor, who won her 100 international cap.The match also marked the return of shooter and captain Pamela Cookey, who missed this summer's Commonwealth Games in Glasgow due to a serious Achilles injury.England flashed into a four-goal lead within two minutes of the whistle and didn't look back. CLICK HERE for the full Match Report More

Manchester Thunder announce their squad for the 2015 season

Sara Bayman - Captain England centre courter Sara Bayman will once again captain the team, who are the reigning Netball Superleague champions.Overseas signing Chelsea Pitman, who signed a one year contract with the Black and Yellows in July, is the only new player to join the squad for next season. Versatile Pitman, who can play at goal attack, centre and wing attack, last played for West Coast Fever in the Trans-Tasman ANZ Championship.England shooter Helen Housby, who famously scored the last-gasp winner in the Superleague final against Surrey in April, will be joined in attack by Krista Enziano, Alice Travis, Kathryn Turner and Eleanor Cardwell. Cardwell completes a remarkable transition from defence to attack, and is an exciting prospect after showing composed shooting form in the pre-season friendly against Yorkshire Jets in October. ITV Charity Netball raised a whopping £15,000 for Text Santa

Manchester Thunder have raised a whopping £15,000 for Text Santa following the ITV charity netball match.The second soap showdown between Coronation Street and Emmerdale brought together cast and crew members from each show.They were joined on court at the Thunderdome in Gorton by players from two Superleague teams, roses rivals Manchester Thunder (Corrie) and Yorkshire Jets (Emmerdale). Charley Webb's Emmerdale emerged victorious 18-22, after Corrie had won the inaugural match in 2013.   Alongside ticket sales, money was raised through an auction of signed dresses from each team, which raised over £1500.Brief highlights of this year's game will be shown on ITV3 tonight at 7.20pm in the Text Santa marathon show with Phillip Schofield. Schofield is attempting to present a live show for 24-hours, with the help of guest presenters, to raise money for the six charities Text ...
