Yorkshire to host England Netball World Cup warm-up game

Yorkshire will host a key warm-up game for England Netball ahead of this summer’s World Cup in Australia.The match will be organised by Yorkshire Jets and take place at Huddersfield University on Saturday 11 July - a month before the tournament in Sydney.England Head Coach Tracey Neville’s squad will take on an England Select for the game, which will begin at 2pm. Thunder have two players in the England long squad for the World Cup – Sara Bayman and Helen Housby will find out at the end of June if they will travel to Sydney. The main clash will be followed by a warm up for the England Under 19 squad, who also play in Australia this summer. The Touring squad will take on a Development team at 4pm.Tickets for the game will go on sale shortly. England Netball Long Squad Announced ahead of World Cup 2015

Thunder's Sara Bayman and Helen Housby have been selected in the England long squad for the World Cup. Black and Yellows captain Bayman and young shooter Housby join 17 others in Tracey Neville's initial squad for this summer's tournament in Sydney. Centre-courter Laura Malcolm, who featured in the series whitewash win over Trinidad and Tobago and England's victorious Netball Europe competition recently, has made herself unavailable for selection. England interim coach Neville faces some tough decisions in whittling down this squad to the 12 she will take to the World Cup in August, which is announced at the end of June. England lift the trophy at International Test Series vs Trinidad & Tobago

England saved their best performance of the series to last as they cruised to victory over Trinidad and Tobago to secure a series whitewash. Tracey Neville will be delighted to have started her coaching tenure with three solid performances and also to have capitalised on the opportunity to rotate her squad. Neville said after the match: “I'm really pleased as I asked the girls to improve throughout the series and I think they've done that. We got 12 players out on court tonight and they all did a job. I was much more nervous tonight, probably because it's in the north west. It's really weird because I feel like I've come home (as England coach). Netball Europe Open Championships – LIVE coverage announced!

For the first time ever, Netball fans will be able to watch all the action from the Netball Europe Open Championships. Netball Europe, QTV Sports, and StreamUK are pleased to announce that all 21 matches will be livestreamed. The Championships, which take place at the Antrim Forum, Belfast, Northern Ireland, between May 14 and 17, features England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales in addition to world number six South Africa and Trinidad & Tobago, ranked ninth in the world.
