New Manchester Thunder signing, Laura Malcolm, has been announced as the new pathway academy coach.
Following the departure of Sheonah Forbes due to maternity leave, Malcolm will take the reins of the incredibly successful pathway for the next six months.
Malcolm starts the role immediately and her first mission will be the tough task of the annual trials.
Malcolm said: “I started coaching pretty much the same time as I started playing thanks to the encouragement of one my PE teachers. For the last 14 years, I’ve continued to develop my coaching and embraced every new coaching opportunity that’s came my way."

Manchester Thunder have re-signed Eleanor Cardwell from Severn Stars to complete a sensational double swoop.
Cardwell joins Stars team-mate Laura Malcolm in returning to the club which saw her rise through the ranks from youth level to the Superleague.
The 23-year-old England Roses shooter will play for the Black and Yellows once again for the 2019 season, after spending two years with Midlands-based Stars.
"I'm so excited to be back in the Thunder dress this coming season," Cardwelll said.
"I'm ready to hit the season hard and as a team, let's challenge for the title."
Cardwell leaves Stars as their starting shooter and has seen her international stock rise in recent years.
The Lancashire-born shooter will join up with the England Roses squads this autumn, for both the Fast5 Series in Australia and the International Tests against Jamaica.

Centre courter and former England international Laura Malcolm is rejoining Manchester Thunder from Severn Stars.
The 27-year-old left Thunder to join Severn Stars in 2017 but now she’s back at the club she played for throughout her youth and later senior career.
Laura, who spent seven years at the Black and Yellows before making the move to the Midlands, was part of Thunder’s 2014 VNSL title-winning squad.
“It’s a brilliant move for me back to Thunder. I enjoyed my time at Severn Stars but it’s going to be exciting to get back to playing in front of Thunder fans who make the most noise.
“Working with Karen Greig again was also a big draw for me. She’s a top coach and a great motivator.”

Following on from our Pathway's successful outing at the NPL Tournament last week, we are pleased to announce that 12 of our athletes have been invited into the Roses Academy Summer Camp this August.
Once the camp and the selection day has passed, (Friday 31st August), athletes will then be selected into the Roses Academy for the 18/19 season.
