
Thunder Video Content Creator + Social Media Management
We are looking to recruit a highly creative, dynamic and motivated individual with a strong work ethic, passion for the game and experience of video content creation, video editing and social media management to help us deliver on our vision, mission and objectives.
These are exciting times for netball, and with the conclusion of the first season of NSL 2.0, this is an exciting opportunity to explore new and unique ways to interact with our current fan base, as well as attracting new fans through social media.

Job Summary
The Video Content Creator and Social Media Manager will work as part of the Manchester Thunder team, helping to increase the social profile of Manchester Thunder netball, not just in the UK but around the World.
You’ll be in control of helping to make video content for all of our Thunder squads and community work. This is a very creative role, and not one day should be the same, with the only limits being your imagination.
With over 100,000 followers across our social media channels, you will be responsible for planning, filming and editing exciting and unique video content that will be shared across different platforms including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Linked In, Snapchat, Whatsapp and X, as well as our own website, with the aim to increase our following across all platforms and increase the number of views, likes, comments and clicks on the posts.

Key Activities:
The below list includes what you will be doing but not exclusive to :-
- Help plan and manage a social media daily content calendar
- Research the latest viral video trends
- Plan and story board video content for each unique platform
- Liaising with players and staff around shooting dates
- Film the content (equipment will be provided)
- Edit the content within our brand guidelines in the relevant sizes for each platform using video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro
- Upload content to the relevant social media platforms and post (with the help of our copy writer to help write the messaging)
- Help edit video content to be used on the big screen during matchdays (with help from the Marketing Director)
- Attend every Manchester Thunder home and away game (you will travel on the team coach to away games) and video a range of content including behind the scenes, changing rooms, viral dances and clips, warm ups, fans and volunteers, match footage during games, bench reactions and more
- Edit videos during a matchday to put out on the relevant platforms
- Run the socials during matchdays including team news, score updates, POTM etc.
- Edit highlights after each game (footage provided by broadcast)
- Attend a training session once per week (either Tuesday or Thursday evenings or Wednesday mornings) to take video footage to use on socials
- Film and edit any ad hoc videos as and when required (such as player interviews, community camps, school sessions, tournaments, training sessions for Pathway, Men’s and Mixed and ParaNetball and more)
- Help live-stream Thunder league games every Saturday from 15th Nov 2025 to 28th Feb 2026
- Re-purpose long-form content (such as podcasts, interviews, training sessions and match footage) in to short engaging video clips for reels, TikTok, shorts and stories
Objectives Measurable Against KPIs:
The below objectives will be measured against a list of agreed upon KPIs including but not exclusive to :-
- Number of interactions on content across the platforms (views, likes, comments and clicks)
- Number of new followers across each platform
- Number of videos that go viral on platforms such as TikTok
- Number of deadlines that have been met
Other:
- Attend weekly staff meetings and brainstorming sessions in person (meeting location around Manchester)
- Attend meetings with stakeholders where necessary
- Take full ownership of content delivery and execution
- Abide by the provisions of the Company’s Equality and Diversity Policy
- Respect and promote the spirit and intentions of the Company’s Safeguarding and Protecting Young People in Netball Policy
Special Conditions:
- Please note that a proportion of work will take place outside of normal working hours (including weekday evenings and weekends)
- Travel is essential
- Current driving license is imperative

Essential Skills and Experience:
- Skilled in using professional cameras and lighting for video capture
- Skilled in video editing using tools such as Premiere Pro, CapCut or Final Cut Pro
- Confident storytelling and scripting ability, with a strong grasp of hooks and audience retention
- Up-to date knowledge of social media trends and platform-specific best practices
- Experience in growing social media channels organically
- Comfortable working on-site at events and venues to capture live footage
- Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines with speed, creativity and accuracy
- Proactive self-starter who takes initiative and solves problems independently
- Excellent communication and engagement skills
- Strong planning, organisation and time management skills
- Ability to establish and proactively manage positive, trusting and respectful relations with coaches, players and key stakeholders
Preferred Skills – Not Essential:
- Degree in film production, videography or media studies
- Interest or background knowledge in netball
- Familiarity with AI tools for ideation, edition or scripting
- Graphic design skills (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva etc.)
- Photography experience
- Experience with motion graphics or animation
