The Coronation Street stars were part of the Corrie and Manchester Thunder team to take on the Emmerdale and Yorkshire Jets side in the soap showdown rematch last year.
And they are right behind Thunder’s huge semi final match at the Manchester Arena on April 18 with Hayley saying it is ‘incredible’ for women’s sport and netball. She added: “I love playing netball with Thunder and I think it’s going to be absolutely brilliant and to have the Manchester Arena as the venue is even more brilliant. Let’s hope the whole of Manchester gets behind the girls”
Katy, who plays Julie Carp on the cobbles, captained the Corrie team for the Text Santa charity match, and has been involved with playing netball since getting involved with the inaugural soap showdown game in 2013, She said: “Netball rocks! It is fantastic to watch. I was amazed the first time I saw it. It’s abuzz, so wicked to watch and you get really in to it.” “ If the atmosphere at the Thunderdome was loud, imagine what it will be like at the arena,” added Hayley.
