Debbie Hallas, managing director at Manchester Thunder, said: “It is with sadness that we have to say goodbye already to Dan Ryan. He has been presented with an amazing opportunity that was too good to turn down. While growing fast, the Vitality Netball Superleague is still a big step behind the Australian netball league and we are not in a position to match the package and level of professionalism available. I would like to thank Dan for all his hard work over the season, he is certainly a character and with his motivation and enthusiasm he made a big impact on the Thunder family. Everyone at Manchester Thunder wishes him well and will be keenly watching his progress at Adelaide Thunderbirds. The search for a new coach is already underway to ensure we have someone in place to lead us through player recruitment and planning. There is a lot going on in the background particularly with the reshaping of the Superleague, so it is exciting times in netball in the UK, we can’t wait to see how it will all unfold. I can assure all Thunder and netball fans of some exciting news going forward and leading into the new season. “
