Taking off together – Thunder partner with Royal Air Force Careers
Manchester Thunder are partnering with the Royal Air Force for their Bank Holiday Superleague clash with Loughborough Lightning on Monday 7 May.
As part of the RAF’s centenary year celebrations, their Manchester Careers Office team will be at the game to promote the opportunities available by signing up as a RAF Regular or Reserve.
These will also be showcased in the match day programme, through Thunder’s social media and online.
The RAF will also be delivering development training to Thunder’s Performance Pathway teams in the coming weeks to support their development on and off court. Photographs from their first session are below.
Flt Lt Gareth Forrest, Officer Commanding RAF Careers Manchester, said:
“We are delighted to be match sponsors of Manchester Thunder in such a vital game in the league season. The Thunder and The RAF share common values of commitment, excellence and pride in what we do. The RAF is full of skilled and driven women who play a pivotal role in keeping Britain safe and promoting peace across the world.
“In our centenary year, it is vitally important that we recognise the input of women in the air force and in the community in general and this event helps us celebrate both”
Debbie Hallas, Manchester Thunder Managing Director, said:
“We’re proud to be partnering with the Royal Air Force at Manchester Thunder and are excited to be putting the focus on the opportunities available for all within the RAF at what is also an exciting time for netball following England’s Commonwealth Games victory.
“Thunder fans are passionate about netball, and sport in general, and share that passion with many of those who are full-time RAF Regulars and part-time RAF Reserves. We look forward to welcoming the RAF team to our game against Loughborough Lightning on Bank Holiday Monday.”
